If I am using a private 1x, do I need to sign a Cold Water and Severe Weather Release form?

Members who only row in their private 1x may not need to sign a Cold Water Release form.

Can I go out in a 1x if the combined air and water temperature is below 90F (example: Air temp. 40F and water temp 49F) and the water temperature is above 45F?

ARC recommends that members do not row in cold weather due to the increased risk of hypothermia. A member may choose to row in cold weather at their own risk if they have signed and agreed to the Cold Water and Severe Weather Release form. If a member rows in cold weather, they are encouraged to take a mobile phone in a water-tight plastic bag and to row with at least one other person/boat.

Can I go out in a 1x if the water temperature alone is below 45F?

No. If the water temperature is below 45F, a member may not use club 1xs.
