See updated (March 2023) COVID Policy HERE

If I had COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19, does that count for vaccination?

Having previously been infected with COVID-19, experienced symptoms, or tested positive does NOT count as being vaccinated. Members who are vaccinated must provide proof of vaccination to the COVID committee chair at covid[at]atlantarow.org.

Can vaccinated members practice in a line up during a coached session?

Members may practice in line ups during coached sessions. Please notify your coach and let them know that you have been vaccinated and would like to practice in a line up. Your coach will confirm vaccination status with the COVID committee chair before setting line ups.

What if I am vaccinated and live with another ARC member who is not vaccinated?

A vaccinated member who is living with an unvaccinated member may not row with other vaccinated members. All members within a household must be vaccinated in order for any of those same household members to be eligible to participate in vaccinate line ups.

How many vaccinated members can row together in a line up?

Members who are fully vaccinated can row together in 2x/-s, 4x/+s, 8+s so long as all rowers have been fully vaccinated. If a line up requires a coxswain, the coxswain must also be fully vaccinated.

I'm rowing in a vaccinated line up, do we still need to wash the boat after we row?

Yes. It has been standard policy and will continue to be a general rule that all equipment including oars, boats, and ergs are cleaned AFTER each use. Oar handles and boats should be washed with soap and water. For ergs, a sanitizing wipe should be used to wipe down AT LEAST the handle, seat, monitor, and rail -- in that order.

Which facilities can I use when I'm at the boathouse?

The lower boathouse, cage, and upper boathouse bays remain open for all members to access equipment and logbooks. The upper boathouse erg room and bathrooms are ONLY open to members who are ACTIVELY erging. The showers  & locker room REMAIN CLOSED to all members.

Can I use the upper boathouse to refill my water bottle?

Yes.

What do I do if I want to train on an erg?

Members may resume individual training on ergs starting March 1, 2021. If you wish to use an erg, visit the "Facilities and Equipment" tab to see how make a reservation. Ergs must be wiped down with a cleaning wipe BEFORE and AFTER each use. Ergs must remain at least 6 feet apart in the upper boathouse and on the deck. Indoor erging is allowed ONLY for vaccinated members.

Unvaccinated members may erg outside (not in a group)  & remove mask while erging.

How far do ergs need to be spaced in the boathouse or on the deck? What if they are placed in the grass by the lower boathouse?

All ergs must be spaced at least 6 feet apart when being used in the upper boathouse or on the deck. If ergs are being used in the lawn by the lower boathouse, it is recommended that they are spaced at least 6 feet apart.

How do I clean the ergs when I am training?

All ergs should be cleaned BEFORE and AFTER each use. Use a sanitizing wipe to wipe down AT LEAST the handle, seat, monitor, and rail -- in that order.
