 LEARN TO ROW

The club promotes rowing to the public on various occasions throughout the year, most prominently on the national learn-to-row day.   This one-day event is meant to give a first view at our sport.

We also conduct these four-week ltr courses (usually three of them) in order to prepare, and to encourage, novice rowers to join the club  -  we need your help to run these courses.

Every ARC member can earn volunteer credit for 'maintenance hours' by helping with the LTR classes.  For Sweep rowing we need rowers, coxswains and launch drivers.  For sculling, we have needs for Scullers who are certified at Level I, II, or III.  This is a great way to get your volunteer hours and work with the potential new rowers.  They always appreciate the patience and friendliness of the club volunteers.

The LTR courses are held in April, June and August/September, on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and Saturdays & Sundays from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

To volunteer, contact
learntorow@atlantarow.org ;  we - and the new rowers - appreciate your help!

The money we make conducting these classes subsidizes our own coaching activities  -  all participants in these club coaching programs should therefore help to conduct the ltr classes!
