It is mandatory for all new members to attend a 'New Member Orientation' session within the first four weeks of their membership. The objective of the session is to make sure that all club members know about the rules and procedures around our club in order to...
- permit everyone to have a happy and safe rowing experience;
- make best use of our limited fleet of boats;
- keep those boats in the best possible shape.
Sessions are held monthly as needed, lasting approximately one hour. Requests for a special session by a large group of new members (e.g. summer programs) will be considered. Sessions will be incorporated into the last class of each Learn To Row course for those who intend to join ARC.
Topics will be discussed using flip charts, hands-on demonstrations, or whatever works best for the topic. Hard copies will be provided where appropriate. A passing grade in an email test will be required.

Some of the topics covered:
1. Basic ARC documents such as the 10 Commandments, Safety Rules & Regulations, equipment usage reminders, Bylaws, Yahoo sign up, etc.
