ARC MEMBERSHIP

To join our rowing club, you must either have some significant previous rowing experience or you must pass through one of our 'Learn To Row' courses, which we conduct several times throughout the year. Once you are a member, you're free to row on your own, and/or form your own crew, and/or join one of our coaching programs.
The club is a volunteer organization, thus it takes a helping hand from everyone to ensure that all members can happily pursue their rowing aspirations. Specifically, every member is expected to contribute eight 'maintenance hours' each year. These hours can be worked off during work parties or by fulfilling various tasks that support the club's activities. Members who cannot contribute these eight hours will be charged a 'maintenance fee' of $100.
The club also organizes (together with the Lookout RC) the annual 'Head of the Hooch' regatta on the first weekend in November in Chattanooga. This is the club's only fund raiser, and each member is required to help running this second largest regatta in the country by contributing at least six 'Hooch volunteer hours'. For every hour a member falls short of this requirement, (s)he owes the club $10 in order to help alleviate the costs of hiring outside help instead.
To apply for a membership, please fill in this application form and send it to the membership chair at the address indicated.
New members please check out the 'New Members' pages on this web site.
