FREE National Learn to Row Day – June 3rd

Experience Rowing for FREE!

Every year the Atlanta Rowing Club opens its doors and offers short clinics for free as part of a nationally coordinated Learn-to-Row day! You can get an idea of what rowing is all about in about 2 hours. If you are really interested in learning the sport, please check out our Learn-to-Row program for our on-going LTR classes consisting of 12 x  2-hour classes over 4 weeks or 6 x 2-hour classes over 2 weeks.

2017 National Learn-to-Row day will be on Saturday, June 3, 2017.

We invite you to experience the joy of rowing at the Atlanta Rowing Club boat house for a brief instruction of the basics of rowing on one of our indoor rowing machines. Then, out to the river where you will practice sculling on dock rowers and take a seat in the barge to learn how to sweep row on the water. Our experienced coaches will guide you through every step of the way.

Registrations for 2017 will open May 1, 2017!

What To Wear? The minimum age for participation is 14. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

We recommend comfortable, but not baggy, clothes. Bring flexible shoes, gym shoes, etc. Sunscreen, sunglasses and water bottles are always a good idea. We may have to adjust the details of the program according to the conditions, but this is an outdoor sport and we will conduct the day in any weather except thunderstorms.
